The SWJLD was created in June 2010, but started as a local branch of the National Trainee Solicitors' Group which is now known as the Junior Lawyers Division. Thanks to the support from its members, the SWJLD has grown substantially over the last few years as the South Wales Trainee Solicitors' Group (SWTSG). The SWJLD is an organisation made up of trainee solicitors, paralegals, newly qualified solicitors (up to 5 years PQE) and law students throughout the South Wales Area.

The aim of the SWJLD is to bring together individuals from varying backgrounds, spheres of legal employment and stages of their career to create a strong community spirit within the profession. By providing a forum for young people to network and make friends, we believe that such a community can enhance the working and learning experience of everyone involved, enriching all of our lives both professionally and personally.

There are many benefits of joining the SWJLD, including free entry to the majority of our events, Invaluable careers advice, the opportunity to take part in the District Judge Shadowing Scheme as well as of course socialing and meeting other members of the SWJLD and other local professionals.

These can be found in the events section.  Our events range from careers evenings, quiz nights, social nights and our annual summer ball event.  Our events are an excellent opportunity for our members to network with fellow professionals.
